In a report by HoustonChronicle.com titled "Costco Will Open First Tomball Location in 2024, City Officials Say," it is revealed that the eagerly anticipated Costco location in Tomball is set to commence construction. City officials indicate that one of the world's largest wholesale retailers is slated to begin construction on the new site in June of this year. The chosen location is at the northeast corner of Holderrieth Road and State Highway 249, where Costco obtained a permit last year to construct the store.

According to the report, the upcoming warehouse, spanning 161,131 square feet and situated on 25 acres, will also feature a 10,000-square-foot Costco fuel station. Nathan Dietrich, the community development director of the city of Tomball, has stated that Costco plans to initiate construction in June to open its doors to the public in mid-2024.
